Dear Friend of the Campaign for Peace and Democracy,

As part of CPD's ongoing work in defense of people in Greece against relentless economic, police, and political assault, we invite you to see a new film, Ruins: Chronicle of an HIV Witch-hunt. It will show at 6:30pm on Friday November 8 at the NYU Global Center for Academic and Spiritual Life, Rm 383, at 283 Thompson Street (on the south side of Washington Square Park in Manhattan).

Check out the event's Facebook page, and let the NYU Radical Film and Lecture Series organizers know if you will be attending. After the film there will be a discussion with the documentary's executive producer, Athens-based journalist Theodora Oikonomides (@IrateGreek) -- and Greek food and refreshments. Ruins is described below, with a link to the trailer. We look forward to seeing many of you there.

In peace and solidarity,

RUINS poster

Ruins / Ερείπια documents a particular aspect of the country's turbulent 2012 election season, during which a group of HIV-positive women were detained, forcibly tested, charged with a felony, imprisoned and publicly exposed, with their mugshots and personal data widely circulated in the media.
