Our office is closed for the month of August, but we did want to send you this important appeal from our friends at "Help 15 Now Raise the Minimum Wage Across America!" Please make a generous contribution here if you can -- and send us a reply email to let us know that you've donated.

15 Now won a $15 per hour minimum wage in Seattle with a people-powered grass-roots campaign. We can and will do the same in cities and states across America. We need your help to hire a National Organizer to manage the many new 15 Now chapters springing up around the country. Efforts are underway to raise the wage in Chicago, New York, Philadelphia and more than 25 other cities. Let's build on the momentum of Seattle and end poverty wages.
We intend to raise $50,000 to support the salary of a paid national organizer. If we fall short, money raised will support the payroll needs of our existing dedicated grass-roots staff. Big business has the resources to fight us every step of the way. We know from our victory in Seattle that building a mass movement on the ground is the only way to defeat the power of big money. This requires a core of professional and dedicated political organizers.
